Nocturnal anniversaries and sea turtles can seem strange and perhaps to incomprehensible, but the new fashion to be married on the banks of the sea, in which it threshed and vulgar expression called “heavenly beaches of the Mexican Caribbean”, involves disastrous consequences for the sea turtles.

Already in the north of Quintana Roo, in the zone of Cancun and Playa del Carmen (see playa del carmen casa coqui), those marine reptiles are faced to the problem that the sandy beaches where for centuries had come nesting without problems, they were invaded during the last decades by hotels, condominiums, restaurants, small palaces and tourist all kinds of constructions that by itself, or with their lights, installations and furniture, they constitute an obstacle so that the Leave to excavate their nests and to spawn.  And although —thanks to the tenacity of some biologists— was achieved that certain number of hotels took measures to facilitate them the operation —to put out or redirigir the lights, to withdraw camastros, chairs and others movable, and to avoid that the guests and employed they bother them—, the serious erosion of the beaches has reduced to the minimum and even destroyed completely many places of anidación.

Real De Catorce in San Luis Potosi

Posteado el Marzo 16, 2009 - Categorizado en Mexico: Places, Mexico: Tourism, San Luis Potosi

     Real de Catorce

The town of Real de Catorce is located in the heart of Catorce mountain, in the state of San Luis Potosi, on the north of Mexico. There are two main activities the tourist can enjoy; the first takes place inside the town and the other in the surrounding mountains. This is a very peaceful place and there is no nightlife. It is an ideal place to relax. Another interesting is a visit to the Ghost Town, high above the Ogarrio Tunnel and past the old Concepción’s Mine. Here you will find the ruins of the old mine works, including mills and warehouses, always enjoying the unforgettable and uplifting panoramas.

If you are coming by bus, you should find your way to the town of Matehuala. Once you have arrived at the Central Bus Station, there are buses that leave at 8 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 6 PM.

Walking around Playa del Carmen and its surroundings

Posteado el Diciembre 12, 2007 - Categorizado en Mexico: Places

There are many opportunities for walking around Playa del Carmen and for going to other places from that point (see Playa del Carmen mayan). Obviously, each opportunity depends on where you would like to go as well as the amount of money you are willing to spend.

This is because once you have arrived here you will really want to see everything that you can because of the great many things the city offers. Moreover, the fact that it is practically situated in the middle of the Mexican Riviera makes it an excellent starting point to explore this small Mexican paradise.

Cancún, the administrative center of the Mexican Riviera, and Playa del Carmen are connected with public transport buses. The bus service is available between 6 and 10 pm, in which the journey takes approx. an hour with buses running every ten minutes.

The fare is approximately 3 US dollars. It is also 3 USD to travel between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, although the buses only run every thirty minutes. The bus station is located on the main street of the city, Fifth Avenue. Source:thefivesusa.wordpress.com

    Puerto Peñasco Tourism: Getting there

Posteado el Agosto 22, 2007 - Categorizado en Mexico: Places, Mexico: Tourism

Until Puerto Peñasco’s international airport opens in 2009, the best way is flying to Phoenix and renting a car there for the four-hour drive to Puerto Peñasco.

Because Puerto Peñasco is in a “free zone,” there is less red tape bringing a U.S. rented car to Puerto Peñasco. No vehicle permit is required as long as you do not take the U.S. car farther into Mexico’s interior. Shuttle vans also can take tourists between Phoenix and Puerto Peñasco.

Two options are Transportes Mota’s Place and Kona Shuttle. You will be better off having a car, though, while in Puerto Peñasco to get around.
