Cinco de Mayo is a great time to
celebrate Mexican culture and heritage. Find out about the meaning and history of this holiday. It’s not, as popularly believed, Mexican Independence Day, but it does celebrate an important event in
Mexico’s history. Oddly, this occasion is celebrated with more fanfare in the
United States than it is in
Mexico.
Cinco de Mayo isn’t the only celebration taking place this month. In fact, schoolchildren love the month of May because there are
plenty of festivities – and lots of days off from school. See our listing of festivals and events in Mexico in May. Source: gomexico
